Guidelines

 

for submission of exhibits

 

Breaking the Stereotype. Part 3

Dear Breaking the Stereotype Team members,


deadline for exhibit submission is may 30, 2009.
 

Please, remember the appropriate ways of submitting your exhibits to part 3 of our exhibition project "Breaking the Stereotype".

 

 

Please, send files in Windows XP versions (NO Windows Vista)

 

 

Only exhibits will be accepted which are finished and ready to be shown in the exhibit.

 

 

 

This means:

 

 

(I) Explanatory texts with your exhibit are obligatory due to the exhibition concept (maximum length 30 words)

 

(II) If you wish to include the explanatory text into your exhibit, please, do so before submitting the exhibit

 

(III) Material for print has to be saved at 300 000 pixel and at the original size (A3, A4, A2)

 

 

NOTE: In case you are not sure about how finished exhibits should look like, please, visit our Archives 1 and 2 on this blog

and view the online-versions of the 2007 and 2008 exhibitions.

 

 


(A) In case you are submitting an exhibit which is meant to be printed, please submit it the following way:

 

- as a jpg-file or a pdf-file (versions 6, 7)

- in a folder which has the name of the exhibit

 

and which also contains:

 

- the picture you are using in the exhibit in its original version as a jpg-file

- the explanatory text in its final version as a word-for-windows-file

 

 

 











(B) In case you are submitting an exhibit which is a video, please submit it the following way:

 

 

1 version fit for Power DVD

1 version fit for windows media player

 

on 2 separate DVDs

 

Please, send 1 "+" version, and 1 "-" version, so there will be no problem in showing your video

 

Explanatory text ought to be included in the video (as subtitles or any other kind of text)

 

and

 

is to be sent separately as a word-file

 

 

NOTE: If you are using material under copyright restrictions make sure that we have the allowance to use it gratis in our exhibition

 

 

(C) In case you are submitting an exhibit which is a sequence of photos, please submit it the following way:

 

- on a CD/ DVD

- as a folder with the name of the exhibit

containing:

 

- the photos as a pdf including the explanatory text (acrobat version 7)

- the photos as single jpg files

- the explanatory text as a word-for-windows file

 

 

 



NOTE: If you are using material under copyright restrictions make sure that we have the allowance to use it gratis in our exhibition

 

NOTE: In order to include the explanatory texts into a pdf-slide show you will have to transform the text into a jpg-file either by using the text tool of photoshop or paint shop pro or by first turning the word-file into an pdf-file and then saving a screenshot of your pdf-text-page as a jpg-file

 

 

(D) In case you are submitting an exhibit which analyzes advertising or film material (screen shots) and is meant to be printed, please submit it the following way:

 

- as a jpg-file or a pdf-file (versions 6, 7)

- in a folder which has the name of the exhibit

 

which also contains:

 

- the picture you are using in the exhibit in its original version as a jpg-file

- the explanatory text in its final version as a word-for-windows-file
